Sesquiterpenes

Therapeutic Properties

With sesquiterpenes, the therapeutic effects of each oil need to be considered individually, as one cannot generalize as easily as with most other chemical families. We can say that oils high in sesquiterpenes can be anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiseptic, analgesic, and antispasmodic. It is believed that even a small amount of a sesquiterpenes in carrier oil can have a pronounced therapeutic effect.
