Personal Experience, Research, Possible Actions

I only know of one distiller producing this oil and the results are great. The Neroli/Petitgrain oil is deeply sedative and antispasmodic.

I have also been using this oil as a perfume, combining it with Jojoba oil and Shea butter. Melt 2 tablespoons (1 oz.) of Jojoba oil and 2 tablespoons of Shea butter in a double boiler. I use a pot that I usually make rice in, fill it 1/4 of the way with water. Boil the water and then add the Jojoba and Shea into a Pyrex measuring cup. Put the Pyrex cup in the pot and you have yourself a double boiler! Melt the Jojoba and Shea over medium heat, and then pour into a small glass jar (2 oz or bigger). Add 6-8 drops of Neroli/Petitgrain and cover until cool. This will make a lovely, soft perfume.

Since 1983 the African distiller of this essential oil has been in business working with rural communities and emerging farmers to establish crops specifically for essential oils. He concentrates primarily on organic essential oils. His company works directly with farmers supplying the distillation units. His company also works directly with farmers and distillers in Madagascar, Rwanda, Zambia and other African countries.
