Personal Experience, Research, Possible Actions
I enjoy using it in the summer months in my massage oils. I add just a few drops to my blend for a refreshing, emotionally uplifting and cooling effect.
This unique chemotype is especially nice to use for fungus because it is nourishing to the skin compared to the traditional citral high lemongrass that can be skin irritating. A blend of this lemongrass with palmarosa and sandalwood in aloe vera gel is a nice recipe for a foot fungus.
It has also been traditionally used as a good bug repellent.
Other essential oils high in Citronellol and Geraniol are Geranium, Eucalyptus citriodora, Palmarosa, and Rose.
