Personal Experience, Research, Possible Actions

Also known as Northern Cypress Pine, this essential oil is from sustainable plantations in the top Northern end of Australia. The wood is distilled giving us an unusual azure-blue colored essential oil. The blue comes from the chemical component guaiazulene and is very rare in wood derived essential oils. As of yet, Blue Cypress is the only wood derived essential oil to have the component guaiazulene. The aroma has been described as being rich & woody with smoky, honey-like undertones.

Blue Cypress has excellent fixative properties and is used as a base note in perfumery. It adds a beautiful, rich, woody base note to body butters and solid perfumes.

The Tiwi people of Australia would traditionally burn the wood to drive away mosquitoes.
