Dispersant - Solubol
About
As you know, essential oils and water do not mix. When essential oils are added into a water or hydrosol spray, the tiny droplets of essential oil stay separate from the water/hydrosol. When sprayed on the body we get tiny droplets of neat essential oil on our skin.
To evenly disperse essential oil into the water/hydrosol we use "Solubol.” It works great to protect the skin from neat essential oil, and has a very mild aroma that doesn't seem to influence the aroma of the blend.
We are using Solubol in sprays we make for damaged or sensitive skin.
There is some debate about how much Solubol one needs to fully disperse essential oil into the water. The range seems to go from 1:1 ratio (1 drop Solubol to 1 drop essential oil), to 1:8 (8 drops Solubol to 1 drop essential oil). The folks we buy it from use it at a 1:4 ratio (1 drop essential oil to 4 drops Solubol).
Our Solubol is made in France. It has a 2-year shelf life and was made fresh in March 2008.
It is an all natural product, here are the ingredients:
The 1 oz size has about 250 drops.
The 4 oz size has about 1000 drops.
The 8 oz size has about 2000 drops.
