About

Opoponax gum resin is from the Commiphora guidotti tree from Somalia. Opoponax, also known as "sweet myrrh," has an earthy, rich, balsamic fragrance when burned as incense. The resin has the most amazing gold color, and the aroma is really appealing!

The resin can be burned in a wood stove or on a charcoal tab. Opopanax is often used to protect oneself against negativity. The resin is lovely to burn to support prayer, and to simply enjoy the beautiful aroma.

This resin has come from Somalia and is really fresh, aromatic and vibrant!

When you buy the 1 pound size there will be some beautiful larger chunks of the resin. You can put these in a bowl and use as a potpourri, or you can take a larger chunk, put it in a separate plastic bag and hit it with a hammer to break it into small pieces to burn.

Try making your own blend of all four of our resins: Myrrh, Frankincense, Copal and Opopanax.
