Kombo Butter - Pycnanthus anglensis

This luscious butter is from Western Africa. It is a striking blue and chocolate-brown color, with a beautiful, fruity, rich aroma. The texture is thick, grainy and buttery. It offers many wonderful benefits for our skin. We like to melt it with other butters like Shea and Cocoa butter (and Tamanu oil) for a rich and healing body butter. Kombo butter is anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and antiseptic. It has good antioxidant properties. It is used with essential oils for aching joints and muscles and for dry or irritated skin conditions.

Kombo butter is high in Myristoleic acid. Myristoleic acid is used to treat pain in the muscles and joints for arthritis and gout.

It is important to buy this butter unrefined. The beneficial components that support muscles and joints are lost when the oil is refined. The shelf life is a minimum 2 years if stored in the refrigerator.
