About
Eucalyptus Radiata is a softer version of Eucalyptus Globulus. It has many of the same therapeutic properties and is a good choice for older folks. I also like to combine Eucalyptus Globulus and Radiata for dealing with a cold or flu.
I regularly use the Decongestant Steam Blend recipe for a few days, 2-3 times a day, wait a week or so and then use it again. . I consider this an effective way to prevent a cold or flu. If I have been around people who are sick I will do a steam that night. I also diffuse this blend in the house as a preventative measure. If you can't find time or energy to do a steam, put a drop on a tissue and smell the strong, fresh aroma for a few minutes. If people are sick at work try putting a few drops on a tissue and leaving it on your desk! You can also make a room spray.
Eucalyptus has many uses in massage as well. Try adding it to a blend for clients who have sore muscles, for pain relief.
Most respiratory conditions can benefit dramatically from the use of eucalyptus oil. You can add it to a cream, oil, diffuser, shampoo, liquid soap, tissue, foot soak or bath. (For the foot soak or bath, dilute well in a carrier oil first at 1-2%).
